Ranch Hills Elementary’s “Recognition Round-Up” program took place Wednesday November 3, 2009.  "Recognition Round-Up" is a monthly awards assembly that recognizes one outstanding student from each class for either academic excellence or behavior.  This month, 21 students were awarded for their academic commitment.  Our Lollicup® gift certificates provide a bit of incentive to the students as they strive to be an academic star at Ranch Hills. 

 

At Rosemead High School, the Renaissance program is one of the ways academic excellence is encouraged among the student body.  “Renaissance is a program that recognizes student achievement by GPA and attendance.  This semester there are over 700 students from our school that belong in the program” says Mei Chang, Assistant Principal for Activities.   Lollicup® gift certificates were awarded to students during this semester’s Renaissance assembly held on Friday November 6, 2009.

City of Industry, CA, May 26, 2009 - As part of our ongoing commitment to being active in making a difference in our local communities, Lollicup USA, Inc. has strived to make a positive impact by reaching out to our neighboring schools. Lollicup has allocated an annual budget of $50,000.00 to help the children and youth in these economic hardships. At Lollicup it is felt that today's students should still be rewarded for their efforts and hard work.

We are thrilled by the positive feedback that is being received from this program. As the months go on Lollicup USA, Inc. will be going through letters and applications from those wishing to partake in our Lolli-Sponsorship programs, and although a hard choice, we will be announcing the selected schools througout the year.

Already Lollicup USA, Inc. has made many changes among the corporate office and warehouse to show our support of preserving earth, but now is ready to get you involved as well with our NEW PLA cups. The PLA cups are made of renewable materials and will be used in future Lollicup locations.

PLA (Polyactic Acid) is derived from 100% renewable resources. Today PLA is used in a variety of industries including packaging, clothing, medicine, and now Karat is proud to introduce PLA plastic cups in our Eco-Friendly line. Cold cups are not the stop to our continued efforts to go green, there are also hot cups, lids, cup sleeves, and straws as well.

03.06.09    Lollicup® Coffee &Tea Café opens 2nd location in Boston Town

Boston, Massachusetts, March 6,2009- Boba Enterprise LLC is pleased to announce the grand opening of their second Lollicup® Coffee and Tea, located in Longwood Galleria, Boston.  Offering over 100 different flavors and types of drinks from teas to slush to coffee, Lollicup can pleasingly accommodate anyone’s unique tastes. Lollicup is the ideal place to satisfy people’s bubble tea fix!

Back in August of 2002, Boba Enterprise LLC had launched their very first Lollicup Coffee and Tea on the east coast of Boston.  Boston Lollicup successfully built and established great brand recognition through their many years of services in participating sponsorships with schools and community events.   Over the course of seven years, the business grew exponentially and the demand for boba tea has been skyrocketing.

Owner Morgan Jiang said, “All of this would not have been possible without extensive work put in by my partner Joey Chan.”  Jiang and Chan both focused their second location at a very busy food court located on a highly visible major street with the intention of introducing the latest beverage concept to a more diversified community.  They believe with this location they will attain their goal, “providing the best boba experience to as many as we can and wherever we can.”

Because non-dairy creamer is the main ingredient in many food products, this incident had affected the entire food and beverage industry. 04.22.06    Lollicup® Boston Helps Fight Cancer and Contributes to a Worthy Cause

Lollicup® Boston proudly donated 300 cups of beverages for the Anderson's Race, held on Saturday, April 22 on the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA. The Anderson's Race is a 5K run that was started in memory of Anderson Nguyen, a victim of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia , in which all proceeds will go to two local medical non-profit organizations. Lollicup® Corporate Office opened its doors for an Open House at its new location and welcomed the Lollicup® licensees on November 3rd and 4th, 2005 for an inside look. The Open House provided a chance for Lollicup® licensees to get to know the corporate employees and to share their experiences with each other. During the Open House, beneficial product demonstrations, helpful seminars, company tour, and a delicious meal and snacks were presented. All in all, the Open House was a huge success and everyone gained a lot of knowledge on Lollicup® and their own stores.

10.21.05  Lollicup® Hollywood Proudly Sponsors the 9th Annual Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival

From October 21st to 30th, 2005 the 9th Annual Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) was held at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The Festival featured around 130 films (from shorts, to documentaries, to features), various panels, and several workshops with 15,000 viewers and film industry professionals in attendance.

LALIFF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to support and promote the development and exhibition of independent and diverse visions by Latino filmmakers. Lollicup® Hollywood located on 5259 Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles was more than happy to donate 800 cups of Boba Milk Tea to the workshops for LALIFF. The drinks were well received and Lollicup® was honored to contribute to the mission of promoting the diversity of Latino culture through film.

The months of April through August have been busy and exciting for Lollicup®! Lollicup® sponsored 8 successful events these past couple of months including the KoreAm K-JAM Basketball Tournament, Arcadia High School Class of 2005 Graduation, LA Zoo's 35th Annual Beastly Ball, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico Dart-Bay Auction, DisPlacements Benefit, Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles Softball Tournament, KIDWORKS Carnival, and Spencer Shiffman's 3rd Annual Golf Tournament. Lollicup® was especially enthusiastic for these events since most of them were directly in line with Lollicup®'s passion for their core customer base of tweens, teens, and young adults, ranging from the ages of 12-25.

KoreAm K-JAM 2nd Annual Basketball Tournament

On April 23, 2005, over 250 young and agile basketball players gathered at Exposition Park Intergenerational Community Center in Los Angeles for KoreaAm's 2nd annual 3-on-3-basketball tournament K-JAM, presented by Hyundai. 64 teams anxiously competed head to head for the coveted first place position and prize of round trip tickets to Korea. After an intense battle between BIG and Dave's World, BIG took the reign as first place winners. All the teams put on a good fight and the tournament was definitely enjoyable for all the attendees. Lollicup® was delighted to donate Boba Milk Teas to quench everyone's thirst at this awesome event.

Arcadia High School Class of 2005 Graduation

Proud parents, friends, and family members along with other Arcadia residents witnessed the graduation of Arcadia High School's Class of 2005 on June 16, 2005. More than 500 distinguished and qualified students were awarded diplomas that joyous day. In conjunction with Arcadia High School's Chinese Parent Association, Lollicup® San Gabriel was able to sponsor this momentous occasion with Boba Milk Teas.

 

Los Angeles Zoo's 35th Annual Beastly Ball

35 successful years on and counting, the Los Angeles Zoo's Beastly Ball gets bigger and better each year. On June 18, 2005 hundreds of prominent Los Angeles businesspeople and residents congregated together for the LA Zoo's 35th Annual Beastly Ball. Thousands of dollars were raised to fund for extraordinary animals such as the rare Sumatran Rhinoceroses, Snow Leopards, Elephants, Orangutans, Chimpanzees, California Condors, and Red River Hogs. With the funds raised, these animals will be able to live comfortably in their natural world designed habitats. Lollicup® proudly sponsored this fundraiser by giving complimentary coupons to attendees. The coupons can be redeemed at all Southern California area Lollicup® retail locations.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico Dart-Bay Auction

In New Mexico's poorest schools, many students and their families are unable to afford basic school supplies nor experience the thrill of back to school shopping. This year, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico is trying to relieve that strain. On June 27, 2005, the employee Dart-Bay Auction was held to raise funding to purchase school supplies for disadvantaged but deserving students. Lollicup® jumped at the opportunity to support this worthy cause by contributing tea sets and complimentary coupons to be auctioned off. Bearers of these coupons can go to Lollicup® Albuquerque located at 110 Louisiana Blvd SE, Ste B to obtain free drinks.

DisPlacements Benefit

On July 13, 2005, numerous LA community members joined together at the posh Standard Lounge in West Hollywood to raise awareness and financial support for Tsunami relief. This benefit called DisPlacements is a “benefit for the relief and rehabilitation of displaced youth in Sri Lanka”, one of the places where the Tsunami hit the hardest on December 26th of last year. The benefit featured a silent auction, live entertainment, and creative multimedia work. Lollicup® eagerly supported Tsunami relief efforts by donating complimentary coupons to the silent auction which can be redeemed at all Southern California area Lollicup® retail locations.

Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles Softball Tournament

Churchgoers of 20 LA area churches gathered at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte on July 16, 2005 for a time of fun, food, and fellowship in a friendly softball tournament. Around 300 young professionals participated in the tournament. Along with the help of Lollicup® Rowland Heights (Nogales), Lollicup® was able to provide Boba Milk Teas for all participants.

KIDWORKS Carnival

On a sweltering summer day of July 16, 2005, underprivileged Latino kids and families of Santa Ana were able to experience an entertaining carnival right in their back yards. Organized by KIDWORKS, a non profit organization devoted to “restoring at-risk neighborhoods one life at a time”, with the assistance of over a hundred dedicated volunteers, the KIDWORKS Carnival was a huge success. The Carnival drew out numerous Santa Ana Latino residents and featured 20 amusing game booths including but not limited to a Ping Pong Toss, Soda Bottle Stand, Dunk Tank, and Frisbee Throw. The kids were able to receive tickets if they participated or won at the games and redeem the tickets for various prizes. Lollicup® gladly sponsored this praiseworthy event by contributing Lollicup® wristbands, t-shirts, and tea gift sets for the prize booth and raffle. Spencer Shiffman's 3rd Annual Golf Tournament

Spencer Shiffman, a commendable three-time cancer survivor, puts on a golf tournament every year to benefit the CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. This organization “regulates its funds so tightly that 94% of every dollar goes directly toward the necessary research for a pediatric cancer cure.” On August 15, 2005, Spencer Shiffman's 3rd Annual Golf Tournament will be taking place at the El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana. This noteworthy event is expected to draw out around 100 prominent business people, famed celebrities, and elite community members. Lollicup® passionately supported pediatric cancer research and cure by donating gift tea packs and complimentary coupons for attendees to use at any Southern California Lollicup® retail location.

Hosted by American Airlines and The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey to raise fund for the National Kidney Foundation. The event will start with a VIP champagne reception with the participating chefs, followed by the main event.

The Great Chefs™ of Los Angeles is proud to honor Helene An and Elizabeth An of Crustacean , and Chef Josie Le Balch of Josie , with the “Chef of Honor” award, which recognizes them for both their exceptional culinary talents and generous contributions to the local community. In addition, for her continuous support of both the National Kidney Foundation and The Great Chefs™ of Los Angeles , NKF presents Stacey Zinman, creator of the children's clothing company, Bloom Love , with the “Chef's Star” volunteer award. Leading the afternoon's festivities is the celebrities emcee Mario Martinoli , the popular spokeschef for Smart and Final.

This is a celebration of exceptional food and wine and the opportunity to improve the lives of so many that suffer from kidney disease. 12.07.04    Lollicup® Celebrates Its Achievement In 2004

Lollicup held its 2004 Annual Party and its first product showcasing at the Ocean Star's Restaurant in Monterey Park on December 6, 2004. Lollicup invited 400 guests, including the Lollicup Coffee & Tea Standard Licensees, Lollicup's vendors and business associates and their customers and employees to join in celebration at Lollicup's 2004 annual banquet. Prior to the commencement of dinner, Lollicup hosted a product showcasing, featuring eight (8) of their vendors and service providers to present their products and services to Lollicup's customers. These vendors include: Astra, Beantrees, Big Train, Blentec, Teaology, Vitamix and Wireless HotSpot.

During the banquet, the CEO of Lollicup, Mr. Alan Yu, celebrated Lollicup's achievement in 2004 and shared his 2005 projections.

Celebration continued well into the night with live music and dancing. Many gifts were given out in the form of raffle drawing during the celebration. As with its tradition, outstanding Lollicup licensees were awarded during the event.

Bubble Tea Floats Into TalinJudy Chang has heard people describe bubble tea, the Asian beverage that combines smoothies or iced tea with black tapioca pearls, as 'that drink with eyeballs.' But she is hopeful her love for the concoction will be infectious.

Chang will open the first Albuquerque location of Lollicup, a California chain, next to Talin Market World Food Fare, in late January. "It's like a light drink, a snack and a dessert all in one," Chang says of the bubble tea. Chang wants the space to be like "an Asian Starbucks." She has enlisted architect Lee Gamelsky of Lee Gamelsky Architects, who designed Zinc and interior designer Heidi Steel, who did Jinja Asian Cafe to create a trendy spot with sloped ceilings and stained concrete floors. Lollicup will also serve slushes, smoothies, shave ice and coffee, as well as light meals. Several other local restaurants offer bubble tea, but Chang says she felt Lollicup was the best of the national chains. "Their boba (tapioca) is really fresh and nice and chewy." -- MK

On Saturday, November 20, 2004, Lollicup Sacramento celebrated its one-year anniversary by hosting its first annual “Customer Appreciation Day”. Loyal customers were treated to free milk teas from 2pm to 5pm and 20% discounts all day long. The much-anticipated event attracted steady crowds throughout the sunny day. In three short hours, approximately 400 cups of milk teas with boba were handed out. The “Customer Appreciation Day” also officially launched Lollicup Sacramento's A-Drink-Day Giveaway in-store promotion. The promotional drawing, to be held on Christmas Eve, will reward 2 lucky recipients with one free drink per day for an entire year! Customers have until December 23, 2004 to submit their entry forms for a chance at winning one of the two grand prizes, which has a potential value of nearly $1000 in drinks! Overall, the festive event was a success! Lollicup Boston proudly sponsored the 2004 NightMarket event organized by the MIT Chinese Students Club, Asian American Association and Association of Taiwanese Students. Costa Mesa, CA. – In an attempt to end hunger in Orange County, Lollicup participated in the 20th Annual Food, Wine & Micro-Brew Fest at the South Coast Plaza. The charity event included great cuisine from Orange County's finest restaurants, an exciting sampling of premium California wines and regional micro breweries as well as live music and dancing.

Alhambra , CA. – On Saturday, September 4, 2003 , over 2000 people attended the Jade TV Star Kebab, which lasted from 10am – 5pm .

Lollicup USA Inc. sponsored the popular Cantonese TV station event, and provided relief from the scorching 95-degree weather by selling refreshments to the spectators at a discounted price. Attendees enjoyed their refreshing treats while watching amusing stage performances by famous Cantonese stars including: Sonyia Kwok, Ann Heung, and Kevin Cheng.

06.19.04   OB Jam Basketball Tournament!

Los Angeles – Hundreds of basketball players ran the courts at OB Jam, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament held at the Exposition Park Intergenerational Community Center (EPICC) on June 19, 2004. Presented by KoreAm Journal and OB Beer, the event lasted eight hours as 64 teams were whittled down through intense 20-minute games that were often decided by a few points. “Me and my friends always participate in basketball tournaments, so we thought this would be a good opportunity to play,” said Raymond To, 27, who noted that it was nice to see that the participants were racially diverse. Lollicup Koreatown helped sponsor the event and provided free drink coupons to all the participants.
